I was born, grew up and continue to live in Spoleto, a fascinating place in which it is still possible to enjoy the magical atmosphere of an historic Italian town while living in a young, culturally vibrant and internationally renowned city. The decision to stay in Spoleto was made easy by most spectacular Festival of Performing Arts the Festival dei due Mondi and the equally well-known Teatro Lirico Sperimentale – a unique opportunity for young and talented singers making their debuts in operatic productions in Italy and worldwide.
Spoleto is only one of many centres of great antiquity that can be found in Umbria – known as the green heart of Italy on account of its unspoilt nature – a land of significant cultural heritage: think of places such as Assisi, Perugia, Todi, Orvieto, Gubbio, amongst other less famous but equally fascinating locations.
These lands, these places of tranquil mysticism, are also home to some of the most celebrated saints in the world: St Benedict, St Francis, St Claire and St Rita, whose spirituality remains vibrant to this day.
Do you see why I love my city, why I love Umbria?
You might think I’m biased, so come and see for yourselves. Seeing if believing! You will be most welcome!
